One of the greatest woman ever!
Incredible American actress and singer, she is recognized for her roles in musicals and dramas, as well as for her musical abilities. Her career in show business lasted for 45 years. Though she was 47 when she died. She was awarded the Children’s Oscar and many other prestigious awards. But not the original Oscar.
As a child, Garland performed in vaudeville with her sisters, and then the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio signed a contract with her. She has starred in more than 20 films, including her awesome movie “The Wizard of Oz”. In 9 films, her partner was Mickey Rooney. After finishing her contract with the film studio, Garland succeeded as a singer, worked in television and returned to film with the musical film “The Star is Born”.
Garland always had a lot of problems in her personal life – she suffered from self-doubt, considered herself unattractive, addicted to pills, tried to commit suicide several times, had problems with taxes. Four her marriages were not successful. She had 5. In 1969, at the age of 47, she died of an unintentional overdose of barbiturates.
She is survived by three children, Lisa Minelli, Lorna and Joey Laft. In 1997, after death Judy was awarded an honorary Grammy Award for her achievements, and several of her musical records were included into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
